Vice President of
Operations
General Description
As the Vice President
of Operations, you will lead and direct all day-to-day operations within the
Company, along with the objective of maximizing the Company’s growth and
profitability. You will be responsible for building
and directing our team through major growth periods, developing an execution
strategy to meet SunShare’s short and long-term objectives, and establishing
key performance indicators for the management of our company’s operations. This role will require the long
yet fulfilling work hours and travel associated with a new venture. In this role you will
report to the CEO.
Primary Responsibilities
- Direct,
lead and manage all on-going Company operations, projects, and initiatives
subject to direction from the CEO.
- Create
and implement improved processes and management methodologies with the purpose
of generating higher ROI and increased employee efficiency.
- Present
regular updates to the CEO for each department area.
- Identify
and address employee training needs.
- Identify
and hire new staff members over the first six months in the areas of Sales,
Business Development, Operations, Marketing and Office Management.
- Provide
mentoring and guidance to other employees.
Qualifications
and Experience
- A BS in Business or Engineering—Masters degree preferred
- 10+ years
of proven experience in project and operations management with a mid-sized
corporation, preferably in the manufacturing, distribution or financial
services industries. B2B experience
preferred
- Proven
ability to lead, mentor and develop people
- Experience in strategic planning and budget management; a strong background in finance
is desired
- Proven experience
growing a start-up company to a mid-sized firm
- Ability to lead and direct major projects through periods of growth and
change
- Experienced
in negotiating contracts and agreements in both the private and public
sectors
- Record of
achievement and professional growth
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for alternative energy projects

Vice
President
of Business Development
General Description
The Vice
President of Business Development will execute SunShare’s marketing and
business development strategy. He/she
will manage the sales and marketing teams for community solar programs in new
markets, based on SunShare’s proven model in Colorado Springs. This role will
require the 50-60 hours/week and travel associated with a new venture, and
candidates must have the strong work ethic required to succeed in such an
environment.
Responsibilities
include developing and managing an aggressive growth strategy for the company,
developing a pipeline of multiple target markets, delivering presentations and
proposals to utility executives and potential customers, negotiating contract
and program rules with utilities, and leading the business development team
(B2B sales, B2C sales and marketing).
Qualifications and Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in business development and strategy
- MBA, management training program, or equivalent work experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills - written and verbal
- Experience negotiating legal contracts with government entities to meet
business objectives
- Experience leading a business development team
- Demonstrated prospecting, planning and closing experience with large
customers
- Demonstrated ability to determine company needs on the spot, and execute
without close direction
or management
- Proven experience
developing business strategies for a diverse portfolio of markets
- Experience in
renewable energy, working with electric utilities or closing land deals
