COMMUNITY SOLAR CONSULTANT

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community Solar Consultant will be an independent contractor based out of SunShare’s Denver office and will be principally responsible for nurturing community solar customer prospects to close while representing the professionalism and the focus on customer-experience that is a core value of SunShare. As a Solar Consultant, your responsibility will be to educate residents on the benefits of community solar thereby enabling consumers to make informed decisions about their energy usage, the environment, and how to better their lives. This position requires experience in direct B-to-C sales as well as excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The candidate will be required to effectively master and articulate SunShare’s value proposition, diligently track activity using SunShare’s systems and processes, participate in some evening and weekend events, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the company’s messaging and sales operations. Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced and unstructured environment and should be an independent thinker and problem-solver.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strategizes/preplans on how to best achieve sales objectives by understanding company pricing and product programming information.
• Prepares and delivers professional sales presentations to customers by balancing the company’s priorities and customers’ needs.

COMMUNICATIONS & PR SPECIALIST

POSITION SUMMARY:
This part-time role will contribute on a contract basis to develop and maintain SunShare’s public perception in the consumer, industry, and legislative/regulatory spaces. This role will use both earned and owned media to establish SunShare as the go-to industry expert on community solar and renewable energy, as well as drive SunShare’s consumer reputation in line with its promoters and brand values. Experience in clean energy and relationships with key national, Colorado, and Minnesota publications is a plus.

This role will work in conjunction with the in-house marketing, regulatory, and customer experience teams to develop and surgically deploy tactics such as media relations, influencer outreach, thought leadership, social media, sponsored content and non-conventional tactics that will favorably influence consumers, regulatory and legislative groups, and industry insiders.

In short, the right candidate will need to prove he or she can use old PR and new PR to quickly and precisely create and maintain a favorable public image through third-party validation. This role will be part-time based on the business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Secure positive coverage with high-profile national and local media to catapult SunShare to the top of industry coverage
• Integrate PR, social media, and influencer strategy to create consistent, positive content and increase consumer engagement
• Develop and execute media relations and social media platform strategy
• Mine and create story ideas and proactively (and creatively) pitch media to secure coverage, regardless of “newsworthy” events
• Draft traditional media materials, including key messages, press kit, press releases, bios, byline articles
• Assist with the planning and execution of events, press conferences / briefings, media tours, etc.
• Spearhead earned and owned media strategy
• Research and prepare executives in media training for presentations, conferences, and interviews

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
• 7-10 years of marketing or advertising experience with 7+ years of direct Public Relations agency or other experience

• Understanding of and willingness to dive into the regulatory and legislative challenges of community solar
• Proven ability to pitch and secure earned media – even when there’s not an obvious angle available

VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT

POSITION SUMMARY:

The VP of Development will be a leader in a fast-paced and innovative organization with a high-performing team. He or she will be responsible for leading greenfield project development and M&A in new and existing state markets in the fast-growing community solar space.

The candidate must be an entrepreneurial-minded team player capable of recruiting, managing, and motivating internal and external teams of land agents, engineers, and designers to develop SunShare’s project portfolio. They must also have experience working with utilities on interconnection.

SunShare is looking for an individual with experience making investment decisions in projects and new markets, who can show a track record in leading successful development and/or investment strategies.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Drive the development of SunShare’s project portfolio. This role will direct site selection, manage a land team, screen interconnections, and oversee the entire development and permitting process. 
• Lead SunShare’s development strategy in target markets, including managing state and utility project submission processes and criteria; as well as other market entry strategies to ensure maximum market share.eading SunShare’s business development in existing markets and new markets as identified.
• Identify and analyze emerging market opportunities and drive an investment and/or development strategy tailored to new markets.
• Gain approvals and permits from local planning and county commissions through building local stakeholder support as well as training and leading others to do the same.
• Lead team of in-house and contract employees, and manage operating budget to drive both top-line and bottom-line performance.This role will be responsible for leading SunShare’s business development in existing markets and new markets as identified.
Articulate operational rationale and expected financial outcomes to the rest of the management team for market and project development strategies and decisions.
Coordinate with construction and asset management teams to ensure developed assets meet construction and operational requirements.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
• 10+ years of project development and strategic market development experience required, showing consistent career progression.
• 5 years of experience in the solar/renewable energy field strongly preferred.
• Must have a strong relationship base in the solar industry.
• Project development and/or management experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge and/or expertise of electricity markets, utility rate tariffs, interconnection agreements, solar industry trends, and regulatory policies.

ASSET MANAGER
Denver, CO


POSITION SUMMARY:

The asset manager will be responsible for ensuring exceptional performance in SunShare’s existing and future portfolio of operating community solar projects, which will reach approximately 250 MW in several years. He or she will be expected to evaluate solar portfolio
performance daily and optimize project performance on a continuous basis to maximize yield.

While the portfolio is under development, he or she will also be responsible for participating in the development process, including managing utility interconnections, to guarantee that all projects and constructed with the highest standards so that production targets will be achieved.

The role will require data analysis, project management, engaging with other asset managers in the industry, and implementation of best practices in a rapidly-evolving field.

The candidate must be an entrepreneurial-minded team player capable of recruiting, managing, and motivating service providers and construction partners. He or she must be a diligent and self-motivated problem-solver with a reputation for consistency and accuracy. It would be preferable to also have experience working with utilities on interconnection and related issues.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Evaluate solar portfolio performance daily; deliver weekly and monthly asset reporting to SunShare’s management and partners.
• Identify and promptly schedule any required corrective maintenance, identifying urgency level when scheduling; engage expert PV system and interconnection engineers when necessary to troubleshoot more complex issues.
• Manage operation and maintenance service providers, technology platforms, and all related services to find optimal solutions.
• Model PV system performance based on design and current weather conditions. Be capable of analyzing actual production versus expected production based on historical and predicted future weather conditions, and capable of explaining results in a simple and straightforward manner.
• Interact with utilities on a daily basis to manage interconnections, utility upgrades, and any grid issues that arise.
• Coordinate with project development and construction team to synchronize SunShare’s development and construction pipeline.
• Manage warranties, and coordinate all warranty work and claims with suppliers.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
• 5+ years in asset and project management, showing consistent career progression and continuous learning.
• 5 years of experience in the solar/renewable energy field strongly preferred.
• Must have a strong relationship base in the solar industry.
