What Is Community Solar?
SunShare Community Solar is an easy, affordable way for you to enjoy clean, renewable energy. In 2010, Colorado passed the nationally first-of-its kind Community Solar Gardens Act (HB 1342) to encourage the development of solar gardens so more Coloradans can choose solar energy where they previously couldn’t if they were renters, lived in an apartment, their roof wasn’t suitable for panels, or it was too expensive.
Instead of putting panels on your roof, we build large solar projects called community solar gardens with thousands of panels. You subscribe to a portion of the energy produced in the community solar garden, along with many other residents who share your commitment to renewable energy. Your utility continues delivering your energy and you receive solar credits on your electricity bill. It’s that easy.

2. Join A Garden
All you need is your utility account number to get started and we’ll get you set up in
one of our solar gardens. We handle the communications with your utility, and you
maintain your privacy and control of your utility account.
3. Track Your Impact
Securing your spot in one of our local solar gardens today ensures that your subscription will start generating clean, local energy as soon as possible. Once you’re placed in a local solar garden, you’ll start receiving credits on your utility bill, where you can track the impact of your contribution to a cleaner, brighter planet.
