Our Executive Team

David Amster-Olszewski

CEO & Founder

Bio

David Amster-Olszewski founded SunShare in 2011, and serving as chief executive officer, has grown it into one of the leading community solar companies in the nation. David’s foundational SunShare project with Colorado Springs Utilities was the first competitive community solar program in the nation. In true startup fashion, David executed that project out of his apartment with only the help of interns. Since then, SunShare has relocated to Denver, developed more than 150 MWs of community solar projects, and served more than 16,000 residential, commercial/municipal, and low-income subscribers.

David was featured in Forbes Magazine’s “30 Under 30” in 2016, recognized as a national leader in the alternative energy market.

Prior to founding SunShare, David worked with PowerLight Corporation in Geneva, Switzerland in 2006, and then in California in 2007, completing an executive management training program at SunPower in California until 2010. He has a degree in International Political Economics from Colorado College.

Mitchell Petz

CFO

Bio

Mitch is responsible for all of SunShare’s financial operations including structured finance.

Mitch is a CPA with fifteen years of experience in accounting and finance, including financial reporting for Fortune 500 public companies. His career has included public accounting for an international CPA firm in US and Chile and technical accounting for the largest SEC filer in Denver.

Prior to joining SunShare Mitch was the Director of Corporate Accounting at a private equity backed company in Denver. Mitch has a BA in Accounting from Michigan State University.

Adam Davenport

General Counsel

Bio

As General Counsel, Adam oversees all legal matters for SunShare. Adam brings extensive experience in land, water, and energy law, including real estate acquisition, finance, and development, as well as general corporate matters and litigation.

Prior to joining SunShare Adam represented clients in Wyoming, Colorado, and Pennsylvania both as in-house counsel and outside counsel. Adam has argued cases before the Colorado Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. Adam received a BBA in Marketing from Colorado Mesa University, a JD from the University of Wyoming College of Law, and is currently admitted to the Colorado and Wyoming bar. In his free time, Adam enjoys hiking, biking, rafting, snowboarding, and camping with his family.

Corrina Kumpe

COO

Bio

Corrina is SunShare’s Chief Operating Officer, and leads all day-to-day operations and strategic growth initiatives for SunShare.

She is an experienced legal professional, whose work has focused primarily on mergers and acquisitions, private placement of securities, and general corporate work. During her career, she has worked with Fortune 100 companies on complex transactions, including structured finance, asset-backed securitization, and acquisitions and divestitures.

Prior to her legal career, Corrina worked at the Pentagon, with legislators, and in consumer affairs with the Attorney General’s office. Corrina has a BA in Political Science from Gonzaga University, and a JD from the University of Denver College of Law.

Melina Fleming

EVP Strategy & Customer Experience

Bio

Melina leads sales, marketing, customer experience, and operations for SunShare, as well as exploration of new strategic initiatives.

Managing the customer lifecycle from acquisition through retention, Melina has overseen SunShare’s enrollment of more than 16,000 residential and commercial subscribers, including customer management and back-office operations. She is thrilled to have been part of SunShare’s achievement of 100 MWs of development, including the nation’s first-ever 100% residential community solar garden in Minnesota and Colorado’s largest community solar garden.

Melina has more than 20 years of marketing and customer operations experience, previously in the telecom industry. Melina has a degree in Russian Literature and Culture from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Jake Bobrow

VP Development

Bio

As VP of Development, Jake oversees project origination and development in Colorado, Minnesota, New Mexico, and other emerging markets in the Western region. Jake has extensive project and business development experience, with over 8 years in the solar industry. In addition to his responsibilities with SunShare, Jake is serving on his second term as an industry elected Board Member of the Colorado Solar and Storage Association. Jake was previously the Director of Business Development for GRID Alternatives where he helped launch the organization’s multifamily and community solar programs and developed projects with cooperative, municipal, and investor-owned utilities.

His projects have gained national recognition and awards, including the Grand Prize for the Department of Energy’s Solar in Your Community Challenge, and the Colorado Solar and Storage Association’s award for Best C&I Project. Jake holds a bachelor’s degree in Community Development and Applied Economics from the University of Vermont.

Adler Prioly

Finance Director

Bio

As the Finance Director, Adler’s responsibilities include supporting deal flow and related capital transactions as SunShare increases the size of its pipeline and market presence.

Prior to joining SunShare, Adler was the VP of Structured Finance at DSD, where he led the underwriting and investment strategy across all of the firm’s origination channels and projects. Before then, he led renewables project finance transactions at Reinvestment Fund, deploying capital into clean energy projects across different technologies and markets.

Ben Ransom

Director Development

Bio

As Development Director, Ben manages overall development in select community solar markets throughout the US. Ben has logged over 15 years of involvement in the renewable energy industry with various roles ranging from installing over one hundred meteorological towers for wind farms, to community solar subscription sales and ultimately development of community scale solar projects.

Local distributed generation is Ben’s passion with a keen eye to unique opportunities including landfill development. Ben is based in Minnesota and holds a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from the University of St. Thomas.

Adam Gutenplan

Controller

Bio

As the Controller at Sunshare, Adam Gutenplan brings over twenty years of experience in progressive accounting roles. Adam has expertise in building and managing corporate accounting teams, including implementation of GAAP-Compliant accounting systems, processes and internal controls. He has a history of establishing the highest standards and best practices while meeting and exceeding company objectives.

Prior to joining SunShare, Adam successfully brought a company public on the OTCQB public market place. In his free time, Adam enjoys hiking, rafting and skiing in the mountains with his family.

Emma Azadan

Development Director

Bio

As Development Director, Emma manages the overall development in select community solar markets and brings over 15 years of experience in solar development. She has developed and overseen construction of 83 MW of solar PV across 16 different projects.

Emma brings experience developing on landfills, EPA Superfund sites, and the nations largest low-income community solar project.

Marin Goldstein

Director Customer Operations

Bio

As Customer Operations Director, Marin oversees the subscriber programs through sales and customer care across all of SunShare’s community solar gardens and partnerships. Marin brings extensive experience in community engagement and customer service support systems. He built and developed a similar network of community solar programs in the New England region along with supporting customers across a wide array of technologies, such as residential solar and thermal heat pumps, that receive renewable energy certificates. He also worked in installation, education, and sales in the residential solar industry for many years, having laid his first solar panel in Oakland, CA in 2001.

Marin received a BA in Sociology from Brandeis University and a MA in Education from Naropa University. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, and skiing – overall spending as much time outdoors as possible with his Siberian Husky, Moksgmol.

Bob Kelly

Partner

Bio

Bob Kelly is a professional with extensive experience in the power and renewables sector. Bob served as Chief Financial Officer of SolarCity Corporation, a distributed solar energy company, from October 2011 to August 2014. Prior to joining SolarCity, Bob served as Chief Financial Officer of Calera Corporation, a clean technology company, from August 2009 to October 2011, and as an independent consultant providing financial advice to retail energy providers and power developers from January 2006 to August 2009.

We care about the Earth and all creatures in it, but we ESPECIALLY like dogs! Our dogs are welcome in the office as part of the SunShare team and report to our CKO (Chief K-9 Officer).
