Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women

SunShare has committed to investing in the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women, for the purpose of trainings, education, and technical assistance.

While the CSVANW is not a direct contributor to the
renewable energy workforce, the elimination of violence against Native women and children will have a real and material impact to the economic growth,
health, and workforce of New Mexico and its Tribal communities.

The CSVANW takes ownership and responsibility for the future of Native women and children by providing support, education, and advocacy using its strengths, power and unity to create violence-free communities – the future renewable energy workforce.

SunShare is working with GRID Alternatives to provide community solar subscriptions for eligible income-qualified Xcel Energy® customers.

This partnership gives subscribers all the benefits of clean solar energy with no upfront cost. In addition

to community solar subscriptions, SunShare will work with GRID Alternatives to offer community-based educational programming, job training opportunities, and solar garden tours and community events for both the community solar subscribers and the larger community.

Navajo Technical University

SunShare has committed to working with Navajo Technical University for the purpose of training the future
renewable energy workforce. The use and recipients of the funds donated by SunShare may be determined by the University, to ensure that the funds are used for the express purpose of enabling students from New Mexico Tribal Nations to improve their opportunities for careers and workforce training in the renewable energy industry.

Denver
Public Schools

SunShare has committed to donating  community solar subscriptions for
eligible income-qualified Xcel Energy customers. These subscriptions are
expected to contribute electricity savings to DPS students and their families, as well as eliminating 17,562,064,000 pounds of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere – the equivalent of removing 249,627 cars from the road – over 20 years.  Our offer gives DPS students all the benefits of clean solar energy with no upfront cost, and is eligible to both homeowners andrenters with no restrictions on the types of properties that can participate.

In addition to community solar subscriptions, SunShare is offering community-based educational programming, job training opportunities, and solar garden tours and community events for both the community solar subscribers and the larger community.

SunShare is working with the Archdiocese of Denver to provide community solar subscriptions for eligible income-qualified Xcel Energy® customers. Laudato Si, the second encyclical of Pope Francis, urges Catholics to care for their common home. The Archdiocesan Community Solar Project will directly impact Colorado’s air quality by supporting emission-free electric generation. Through this partnership, Colorado based income-qualified residents and service organizations will receive discounted community solar subscriptions and educational programming, as well as reduced electricity costs.

Building Community through Community Solar

Each solar garden is its own community, comprised of subscribers who share a vision of a cleaner, brighter future through clean energy. Subscriptions are divided up to match each subscriber’s energy use until the solar garden is at capacity.

But that’s not all. SunShare is committed to putting the ‘community’ in community solar with our innovative approach:

Subscribers

Our subscribers are the backbone of our business. They are our own employees, neighbors, friends, and family so we consistently strive for friendly, local service.

Local Businesses

As a small business ourselves, supporting the local business community is important to us. We’ve invested more than $100,000 in local businesses through our subscriber incentives.

Landowners

We help farmers preserve their land and their legacy, and even grow crops alongside solar through innovative agrivoltaic developments.

bee

The Planet

When possible, we design our gardens to serve as habitats for bees and butterflies that pollinate local farms. Our solar gardens are homes to sheep-grazing, honeybee apiaries, and native wildflowers and grasses.

Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity

SunShare has a signed Memorandum of Understanding with Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity, which established an existing and continued relationship for the purpose of offering discounted community solar subscriptions to both applicants to and recipients of their affordable homeownership programs. These community solar subscriptions will serve both renters and homeowners who meet the eligibility requirements for Habitat for Humanity, whether or not they are selected to receive affordable housing.

ACE Leadership High School

SunShare has developed a partnership
with ACE Leadership High School, an Albuquerque-based charter school that was created to improve educational outcomes for marginalized students by sustaining innovative, student-centered, community-responsive schools aligned to dynamic industries in New Mexico. ACE Leadership will be part of SunShare’s Cleaner Brighter Futures scholarship and donation program, which includes educational programming, discounted subscriptions for income-qualified students and their
families, scholarships for students whose households subscribe to a community
solar garden, and donations to either ACE Leadership High School or a
non-profit of the school’s choice. SunShare’s experience creating and
implementing K-12 education around community solar and other energy education will assist in its commitment to educate and subscribe ACE students and their households.
